Daniel R. Roubein, M.D., President & CEO of Telerays
Daniel Roubein, M.D., founder of Telerays, (www.telerays.com) has been a practicing radiologist for 15 years. In 2005, motivated by the burgeoning subspecialty area of teleradiology, Dr. Roubein founded Radiology Reading Centers of America, a national service offering expert final interpretations of radiologic studies at competitive fees.
Telerays builds on this concept with an online auction that helps hospitals and imaging centers get the best price for radiologic interpretations and permits radiologists to work when they want, choose their cases, and decide the fees.
While attending Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, LA, Dr. Roubein won two research grants. He graduated in 1987 and completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at LSU School of Medicine where he received the 1991 Outstanding Resident Achievement Award.
Dr. Roubein completed a neuroradiology fellowship in 1991 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Following that, he began his career as an academic neuroradiology at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport as a clinical instructor in radiology.
In 1993, Dr. Roubein was appointed staff radiologist at the 400+ bed Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth in Beaumont, Texas where he was chairman of the department. In 2005, he moved to Houston and opened a private practice in Bellaire.
- Dr. Roubein holds medical licenses in Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland and Texas. He is a senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology and a member of the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology, American Medical Association, Radiological Society of North America and the Houston Radiological Society.
